Keith Coleman
Founder, Chief Executive Officer
Keith is CEO and co-founder of SuSeWi. Prior to co-founding SuSeWi, Keith was an SVP and Global Head of Public Sector Consulting at Capgemini, a 150,000 person technology, consulting and outsourcing business. Since coming to the United Kingdom in 1997 Keith served as a Director at the Department for Constitutional Affairs (Ministry of Justice) and as a principal at Northbridge Ventures, a private equity investment company. While in South Africa, Keith was a Global Account Manager at the Monitor Group and Head of the Africa Government Practice. Keith holds a Masters in Business Administration, a BA with Honours in Industrial Sociology and a BA in Political Science from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He served as an Economic Advisor to the African National Congress when it was unbanned. Keith is a trustee of the Nelson Mandela Legacy Trust.

Francois Vaserman
Director of Operations
Francois has almost 30 years of quality and production management experience in food operations. Francois was formerly Director of Operations at Axiane Meuneri, a branch of Axéreal Group, Chartres, France. Prior to this, he was Deputy Director of Industrial projects (Greater Africa Zone), Bel Group. Food Sciences & Technology Engineering Diploma, from AGROSUP DIJON (ENSBANA), France and a DEA in Food Sciences from the Texas A&M University, USA.

Barbara Szantho
Lab Manager
Barbara manages the scientific data management and data curation for SuSeWi Limited and the Company’s London laboratory. Barbara holds an MSc (Eng) Biological and Bioprocessing Engineering (with distinction) from the University of Sheffield and a BSc (Molecular Biology)

Dr Raffael Jovine
Founder, Chief Scientist
Prior to founding SuSeWi, Raffael was an SVP at the International Institute for the Safety of Medicine (ii4SM) and an executive consultant with CapGemini in the UK and Booz & Co. in the USA. Before this, he was VP for Science and Applications at ZPM Inc. a biotechnology and water treatment start-up and was postdoctoral scholar and researcher at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). Raffael undertook sponsored research at MIT in Applied Biological Sciences. He has authored or co-authored more than 27 patents and is trained in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry.

Cristela Pires
Algal Scientist
Cristela is focused on biotechnology and antibiotic identification and is growing, maintaining and curating the unique algal collection of hand-picked microalgae from SuSeWi’s production locations. Cristela holds and MSc (Biotechnology) from the University of Coimbra

Riccardo Gubbioli
Finance and Programme Management
Riccardo has over a decade experience in growing sustainable enterprises. At SuSewi he is in charge of finance, including fundraising, investor relations, financial modelling and reporting. Previously he was a Senior VP, advising a leading UK family office on the acquisition, management and exit of over €500m of renewable energy generation assets. He started his career in a business development role at financial software company Dealogic, providing analytical services to investment banks.
Riccardo holds an MBA from the London Business School, an Honours in Mechanical Engineering and an MSC in Information Technology, both from the University of Nottingham. He serves on the Alumni Energy Club for the London Business School and advises the European Commission on sustainable energy investments under the H2020 programme. He speaks five languages and enjoys cycling and skiing in his free time.

Randolph Kurik
Engineering Design
Randolph is a Chartered Engineer with nearly 40 years experience as an infrastructure designer and civil engineering contractor. He is an experienced Consultant and Contractor with a demonstrated history of working in the project management consulting industry and as Principal Contractor. Randolph has considerable experience in city development/design, earthen & rockfill dams, industrial and commercial developments, wastewater treatment & drainage, as well as airport, highways and hospitals construction. He has designed and managed projects in 18 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Aditya Vinod
Architectural Designer
Prior to joining SuSeWi was involved in various large-scale projects in India, UK and Australia. Aditya is a trained and qualified architect with over 5 years of professional experience and holds a master’s degree in spatial design from the Bartlett, University College London. She was previously involved in design and management of residential, retail and commercial developments, workplace and campus designs for various property developers.

Gideon Oberholzer
Data Scientist and Modeller
Gideon is responsible for building a simulation (“Digital Twin”) of SuSeWi’s Phase II facility to support design and, ultimately, operations. He was formerly at Genesis Corporation, where he specialised in infrastructure finance. Prior to that, Gideon was at Betapoint, a real estate transformation and optimisation Company. Gideon holds an MSc Finance from Oxford Brookes University and a BEng (Hons) in Civil and Structural Engineering, Diploma in Banking and Corporate Finance. Gideon is on secondment from Business Science Corporation.

Our Advisors

Abdallah Alaoui
Government Affairs: Morocco
Abdallah has 30 years’ experience in international banking. He set up and managed for 17 years the London affiliate of BMCE Bank, the 2nd largest private bank in Morocco. Abdallah was assigned to China to launch BMCE Bank branch in Shanghai.
Prior to this, he was head of Marketing and Regional Manager at Société Générale in Morocco for 12 years. Abdallah was accredited by the Moroccan Chamber with BCC (The British Chambers of Commerce) and created the business centre to help British companies invest in Morocco. He holds a PhD in economics.

Steve Axcell
Expert in Large Capital Projects
Steve is an independent consultant on large capital projects, focusing on project delivery excellence. He was formerly an SVP at Jacobs Engineering, a global provider of technical, professional and construction services, where he was responsible for Jacobs’ Mining and Minerals business unit across North and South America and North Africa, and for the Industrial component in the Asia Pacific region.
Steve has worked on, managed or held execution oversight roles on large multi-billion-dollar projects in the Americas, Africa and Asia. Serves as non-executive director on numerous mining Company boards. Steve holds a degree in Mineral Processing Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Thras Moraitis
Investment
Thras is a non-exec director of FLSmidth, a Nasdaq-listed global engineering firm. He was formerly a co-founding partner of X2 Resources, a $5.6bn natural resource fund. Prior to that, Thras was an Executive Committee member of Xstrata Plc., a FTSE 20 natural resource group and a Global partner at Monitor Group, where he was head of operations in EMEA. Thras co-founded SMC and SMC Capital, an advisory and private equity firm – sold to Monitor Group in 1994. Prior to this, he co-founded
Expert Explosive, a developer of a patented electronic detonator still in use in mining and other applications. Thras holds a Bsc (Hons) Elec. Engineering, a post-graduate diploma in Computer Science and an MBA, all from the University of the Witwatersrand. Thras is a published author, including Playing at Acquisitions (Smit and Moraitis, Princeton, 2015) and Leading the Deal (Moraitis and Keener, Urbane, 2018).
